(Butte County, CA) – The Butte County Sheriff’s office reports the arrest of a fugitive, and a second arrest for harboring a fugitive.

Predawn Sunday morning, a deputy pulled over a pickup on HWY 70 & Ophir Road that was associated with 25-year-old George Wright of Oroville. Wright had several arrest warrants, including, one just issued a week ago for evading. As the pickup came to a stop, Wright ran out of the passenger side and escaped on foot. The driver, 49-year-old Justin Beall of Oroville, was arrested for harboring a fugitive.

Then, at around 7:15 Sunday morning, BCSO received a call from a business owner reporting his pickup had been stolen. Just over four hours later, the pickup was located on Oregon Gulch Road & Potters Ravine Road, with Wright behind the wheel. He was successfully detained and booked.
