(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – At one point so far during our current series of storms, the Sutter County Office of Emergency Management reports fully 21 roads were closed due to flooding, downed power poles, trees and washouts. However, by midday yesterday, that number was reduced to 17.

The Lovey’s Landing Trailer Park evacuation order remains in effect, with the update saying “and the forecast for the next week is continued rain.”

Concerns about potential flooding in Robbins have subsided for now, as the large drainage pump that lost power for 16 hours at the beginning of the week is now working well, keeping canal water levels manageable.

The update concludes that, as designed, water from the Sacramento River is flowing over the Tisdale, Colusa and Moulton Weirs into the bypass system “and there remains no threat to the 260 miles of levees in Sutter County.”
