(Sacramento, CA) – In Federal Court yesterday, 60-year-old Rick Glenn Vardell of Olivehurst pled guilty to firearm and opioid trafficking charges. Prosecutors charged Vardell with selling a total of 1,989 Vicodin pills to a confidential source and a subsequent search of Vardell’s residence turned up an additional 1,000 hydrocodone pills and $98,000 in cash, in a safe and under a pillow on the bed by that safe, was a loaded Smith & Wesson handgun.

Vardell faces a minimum 5 years and a maximum life in prison term and a fine of a quarter-million-dollars.
