(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The identity of the 19-year-old Marysville resident killed in a Sutter County head-on collision Sunday evening at around 6:40, has been reported by The Appeal-Democrat, citing the Sutter County Sheriff’s office, as DaJaun Collins.

CHP Yuba-Sutter reports that Collins was driving north on HWY 113, just south of Leisure Road, when he drove into the southbound lanes to pass two vehicles in front of him. A Woodland woman in the southbound lane steered toward the shoulder to avoid him, however Collins presumably also steered onto the shoulder, causing the collision.

Collins was killed and the Woodland woman broke both legs.

The collision report notes that at that location, “the northbound lane is marked by a solid yellow line” and “there is a curve in the road.”
