Councilman Shon Harris is unanimously appointed as the
new mayor of Yuba City at this week’s city council meeting.

It marks Harris’ third stint as mayor, since being elected to the Yuba
City City Council in 2016. Harris replaced outgoing Mayor Wade Kirchner. Councilman Dave Shaw, who was replaced as mayor by Kirchner in December2022, was appointed as the new vice mayor due to the city’s transition to a council districting system.
