(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Yuba Water Agency has approved funds to begin construction of a 5-megawatt biomass plant near Dobbins. The plant will process woody material from ongoing forest restoration projects in the Yuba River watershed, designed to reduce the risk of wildfire and improve forest health.
The 5-megawatt biomass plant will be built by Engeman Energy and the Camptonville Community Partnership and is expected to go online in 2026. The plant is also expected to spur new jobs and business opportunities, according to the public announcement of the project.
