(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – In their meeting yesterday, the Yuba Water Agency Board of Directors unanimously approved the purchase of three separate parcels of land, totaling 768 acres. The land is near the Colgate Powerhouse along the North Fork of the Yuba River, with a purchase price of $1.6-million.

According to the General Manager of Yuba Water, the primary purpose of the purchase from Ingersoll Timber “is to ensure that the Agency continues to maintain access to both the Colgate Powerhouse & Lake Francis Dam” and “falls in line with the Agency’s strategic goals of creating a habitat enhancement program in the lower Yuba River and implementing innovative ways to promote improved watershed resilience.”
