(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – CHP reports a pedestrian was killed late Saturday night. The accident occurred just before 11:00 when 61-year-old Fred Bowerman of Oroville was driving a Chevy Trailblazer north on HWY 70 in Yuba County, and hit a pedestrian who “crossed into the direct path of travel, and was struck, causing fatal injuries.”

The identity of the pedestrian has not been released at this time.

Alcohol and/or drugs are not considered factors and Bowerman was not arrested.

Meanwhile in Sutter County late Saturday afternoon, on HWY 99 just south of Reed Road south of the Yuba City limits, a Toyota Rav 4 driven by Delores Pizarro of Sacramento crossed into oncoming southbound traffic and collided head-on with a Dodge Charger driven by a Yuba City woman, identified only as Miranda, according to The Appeal-Democrat.

Three people, including a Sutter man, sustained major injuries.
