(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Yuba County Sheriff’s office is confirming that “unfortunately as deputies were attempting to apprehend a homicide suspect, our canine deployment accidentally resulted in the injury of a civilian.” This is in response to Myra Riddle’s claim to CBS-13 in Sacramento, that Friday night, as the chase of a suspect in Thursday night’s shooting & murder at the Yuba Garden Apartments, came through her residence, the Casa Del Este apartments, the suspect ran past her doorstep, the deputy released the canine and the dog “jumped” on her, biting her stomach and bruising her in a fall.
The TV station reports Riddle was taken to the hospital and “discharged several hours later.”
Riddle says she is going to contact a lawyer.
