(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department has issued a scam warning targeting the elderly.

Callers are identifying themselves as members of the YCSO, providing actual names of employees and have technology making the receiver’s caller I.D. show the sheriff’s number.

The scammers are demanding money to “take care of active warrants” according to the YCSO alert, which adds that the sheriff’s office does not make calls demanding money.
