(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – In Yuba County Court, after around half-an-hour of deliberation, the jury found 28-year-old Joshua James Slaughter guilty of felony domestic violence following an incident involving a Marysville woman he had met on a dating app last summer.

After a couple of months of dating, while at her residence, he began yelling at her, at which time she asked him to leave. However, he refused to do so, grabbing her by both arms, leaving serious bruises. He then shoved her, face first into a wall, leaving her bloodied with two black eyes and a ‘possibly broken nose” according to a press release from the Yuba County District Attorney’s office.

The woman’s four-year-old daughter was present during the violence.

Testimony also included another former girlfriend of Slaughter’s who described him as controlling and jealous, saying he repeatedly assaulted her during their short relationship.
