(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – In Yuba County Court, after around half-an-hour of deliberation, the jury found 28-year-old Joshua James Slaughter guilty of felony domestic violence following an incident involving a Marysville woman he had met on a dating app last summer.

After a couple of months of dating, while at her residence, he began yelling at her, at which time she asked him to leave. However, he refused to do so, grabbing her by both arms, leaving serious bruises. He then shoved her, face first into a wall, leaving her bloodied with two black eyes and a ‘possibly broken nose” according to a press release from the Yuba County District Attorney’s office.

The woman’s four-year-old daughter was present during the violence.

Testimony also included another former girlfriend of Slaughter’s who described him as controlling and jealous, saying he repeatedly assaulted her during their short relationship.

  2. I wish they would of locked him up and gave him anger management and tried to help this man..try and get him better so another woman didn’t have to be put threw his wrath. I was the Marysville woman he threw against a wall and I had nightmares about him hurting me and anyone that got involved with him. I felt guilt because his next girlfriends would have no idea what kind of man he really was because the first month we were together he was extremely loving and caring.. his true self came out the next month and I’m so thankful it wasn’t too bad for me but I knew he needed help. I had to let him rage in my face and totally submit to get him to leave.I Knew if I showed any anger it would of been dangerous for my child in the house so I let him rage and kept asking him to leave. I feel if he would have done time for what he did to me this could have been prevented.. my heart hurts for the woman he hurt. I am now having nightmares about it again and what she went thru. PLEASE .. DONT LET HIM GO WITHOUT A PLAN TO HELP GET HIM BETTER.. HE HAS MAJOR ANGER ISSUES AND HIDES THEM WELL ..TILL ITS TOO LATE.
