(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – At their meeting Tuesday – with two council members absent, Dave Shaw and Shon Harris according to The Appeal-Democrat – the proposed agreement with Smart Marketing for “revenue measure consulting services” was tabled until the March 7th meeting. Although Councilor Marc Boomgaarden moved to approve the city staff’s request, he received no second from either of the two other council members present. He then moved to delay the mater until the next meeting which passed unanimously.

The proposed agreement, not to exceed $175,000, would have Smart Marketing provide public outreach and “education” in an effort to get a 1% sales tax increase passed on the 2024 November ballot.
