(Undated) β Yuba City High School grad and 12-year major league veteran Max Stassi, now with the Chicago White Sox, will be starting the season on the 10 day injured list, due to hip inflammation, according to ESPN.
The 33-year-old missed all of last season with the Angels as he and his wife cared for their first child, who was born three months prematurely. The birth-weight was only 1-and-1/2 pounds but the baby is now healthy.
White Sox Manager Pedro Grifol told ESPN Stassi βis working through it. He’s getting his work done.β
In 403 career games with Houston and the Angels, Stassi has 41 home runs, 42 doubles, 128 RBI and a lifetime career .212 batting average.
