(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Yuba City Police Department reports that last evening at around 7:00, officers were dispatched to Tres Picos Drive regarding a ,man who had been hit and killed by a falling “very large redwood tree in his backyard” according to a press release.

The investigation determined he appeared to have been on a ladder “to try and clear the tree away from his residence when it fell on him.”
