(Nevada County, CA) – The Nevada County Sheriff’s office reports the arrest of 35-year-old James Michael Polney of Yuba City, following an investigation into the theft of bank cards and a Garmin GPS device from a vehicle parked along Bowman Lake Road in Nevada City.
The Garmin ultimately provided deputies Polney’s location.
The investigation uncovered numerous fraudulent charges made in Yuba City using the stolen bank cards.
Additionally, the investigation led to a residence in Antelope, Sacramento County, where the stolen Garmin was found along with numerous items “believed to be purchased fraudulently with the victim’s stolen credit cards.”
