(Petaluma, CA) — Yellowjackets are causing quite the buzz in the North Bay these days. Vector officials say the aggressive wasp-like insects are in full force, having seen their numbers skyrocket around the area this summer. Underground nesting yellowjackets are particularly aggressive, and officials say people need to be careful around the insects because their venom can be problematic for many.
Vector officials say they’ve received over 12-hundred calls this year to deal with yellowjackets and their nests, more than double the amount from last year.
