(Yuba-Sutter, CA) — The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department announced yesterday that they had made several arrests in the last week or so that resulted in several illegal firearms being confiscated.
On the 18th, Deputies conducted a vehicle traffic stop in Marysville for a vehicle code violation. The driver was identified as 20-year-old Angel Rodriguez. Inside the vehicle were three other juvenile passengers. A search of the vehicle yielded a fully automatic AK-47 rifle, and a loaded, semi-automatic, non-serialized firearm, commonly known as a “Ghost gun.”
Rodriguez and three juvenile occupants were subsequently arrested for firearm related offences.
Then on Wednesday, Deputies conducted a vehicle stop and contacted the driver, a known Crip gang associate, identified as 23-year-old Tariq Fairman from Marysville. Fairman is on active Yuba County probation and was recently released from prison. A search of the vehicle yielded one loaded, semi-automatic “Ghost gun” and live ammunition, which Fairman is prohibited from possessing.
Fairman was subsequently arrested and booked into the Yuba County Jail on firearm related offenses.
