(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – CHP Quincy reports that crews have made quick work of clearing the latest slides that closed HWY 70 through the Feather River Canyon.

The roadway is scheduled to reopen, without traffic controls, at 3:00 this afternoon. It reopened last evening allowing one-way traffic.

Beginning after the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, the current plan according to Caltrans, is to have one-way traffic control back in place from 7:00 in the morning until 5:00 in the afternoon, while crews work to stabilize the slopes. Keep in mind however, this is an estimated timeline and officials say it could change pending weather conditions β€œor operational needs.”
