(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – A man wanted by the Yuba City Police Department for domestic violence was taken into custody Saturday, following an attempted traffic stop in Marysville.
The Yuba County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer tells The Appeal-Democrat that 38-year-old Robert Hubbard led deputies on a “short low speed pursuit” across the Fifth Street Bridge into Yuba City. Hubbard’s vehicle then crashed into a flower bed at the base of the bridge when he “initially barricaded himself.” SWAT was called, however Hubbard “surrendered peacefully after some negotiations.”
He was booked into the Sutter County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance and inflicting corporal injury on a spouse / cohabitant.
Yuba County will also reportedly be filing charges against Hubbard for the pursuit and resisting arrest.
