(Oroville, CA) – In Butte County Court, the jury has reached a verdict of guilty of murder & attempted murder in the trial of 23-year-old Asaahdi Coleman of Sacramento.
He was charged with murdering one person and wounding four others, on a Greyhound Bus in Oroville, the night of February 2nd, 2022. Coleman had boarded the L.A. bound bus in Redding and opened fire when the bus stopped near the Arco at Feather River and Oro Dam Boulevard in Oroville. Coleman was arrested, naked, at the Walmart a short distance away.
He was wanted in Alemeda County at the time for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
Coleman is facing 74 to life, but will be eligible for parole after 25 years, due to the “youthful offender parole law” signed by Gov. Newsom in 2019, which applies to convicted murdered 25 and younger.
