(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Sutter County officials have provided an update on the mandatory evacuation of the Lovey’s Landing trailer park. The Sacramento River reached 65 feet yesterday at the Meridian Bridge, the elevation at which the park historically starts flooding, power to the park was cut for safety and the update reports “there were approximately 40 trailers and more than 70 vehicles in the park, but that number had been cut in half ny this morning.”
Tenants have accepted vouchers allowing them to stay free at the Live Oak Trailer Park, or, at the Yuba-Sutter Fairgrounds.
The Red Cross and Sutter County Health & Human Services also opened an evacuation shelter at Veteran’s Hall in Yuba City.
The County Update notes “Lovey’s Landing is the only area of the county under evacuation.”
