(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Two 16-year-olds were arrested in Marysville early Saturday, on suspicion of carjacking, making terrorist threats, hit & run and advancing on officers “announced” by the Marysville Police Department, according to Michaela Harris in The Appeal-Democrat.
The first alleged carjacking occurred in the Watermark Plaza on 9th Street, when the 16-year-olds, one armed with a knife and the other with a baseball bat, stole a man’s truck, drove it about a block-and-a-half before losing control and crashing into the Carl’s Jr. sign and a tree.
The two youths then fled on foot, north on D Street and carjacked a parked vehicle, whose owner flagged down an officer already responding to the first carjacking.
The teens then exited the second carjacked vehicle and ran to Washington Square Park, where the suspect with a knife was detained. Meanwhile, the bat-armed teen was caught in the 1200 block of High Street.
Both were taken to juvenile hall.
