(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Two Gridley women, 19 and 20-years-old, were killed predawn last Friday morning in a solo vehicle collision on HWY 99, just south of Lomo Crossing.

CHP reports the driver, 20-year-old Karina Figueroa, in a 2014 Honda Accord, was northbound on HWY 99 on the sweeping left caveat at an unknown rate of speed, lost control and collided with a tree off the right side of the road, killing her and her 19-year-old passenger Hailey Bartell.

The collision report states “alcohol may have been a factor but has not been confirmed.”
