(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Yuba City Police Department reports two arrests last Friday night, after an officer heard a vehicle doing donuts at B Street & Wilbur Avenue. As the office approached the scene, witnesses say the driver of a pickup took off, southbound on Wilbur, passing a vehicle on the right side.
The officer gave chase, eventually pulling the driver over to a stop several miles south off Garden Highway at Shanghai Bend Road & Brandon Way.
Both occupants of the pickup were intoxicated according to a YCPD release.
The driver, 19-year-old Oziel Hernandez-Ramirez, was booked for reckless driving, DUI, felony evading and a weapons violation. The passenger, a 23-year-old whose name isn’t provided, was arrested for resisting and being drunk in public.
