(Yuba-Sutter, CA) — Tuesday was officially the first triple-digit day of the year for many cities in Northern California. Sacramento reached a high of 100 degrees, Stockton 102 degrees, Fairfield 103 degrees and Marysville also 103 degrees. The average temperature for the first week of June is 86 degrees.

The heat and wind gusts of up to 30-miles-per hour are making for an elevated risk of wildfires. There were several small grass fires on Tuesday.

An excessive heat warning remains in effect through eight o’clock Thursday night. Today is expected to be the hottest day of the week.
