(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Sutter County Sheriff’s office recently conducted a minor decoy operation with agents of the State Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. It was carried out at eleven stores and resulted with three clerks caught selling alcohol to underage decoys.

The clerks and the stores they worked at are not identified in the SCSO press release, which notes that they face a minimum of a $250 fine and 24 hours of community service.

The state began funding and assisting local law enforcement in minor decoy operations in the 80s when the violation rate was as high as 50%. It’s now, on average, below 10%.
