(Nevada County, CA) — Thousands of Sierra foothills residents are battling cold temperatures while struggling through power outages. On Sunday night, P-G-and-E reported more than 88-hundred customers were in the dark in its Sierra division. That includes Nevada, El Dorado and Placer Counties.
This comes with more snow in the forecast for the week ahead. Cal Fire is urging people to remove snow loads from their propane tanks, gas lines, and the tops of buildings.
The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office has had nearly 200 calls for welfare checks, searches, and rescues since February 24th. Some residents there are now going on a week without power.
