(Paradise, CA) – A Paradise non-profit organization dedicated to the ongoing Camp Fire rebuilding efforts has had $40,000 worth of equipment stolen: Including 19 chainsaws, 8 generators and a trailer.
Compounding the loss, the thieves damaged the garage door of the storage building to break-in, allowing rain water to flow in, causing additional damage to stored items.
And, the Camp Fire is still taking a toll on the Paradise economy: Holiday Market is closing its doors on January 27th. The store owners said they made the decision to close because they never recovered from the 2018 Camp Fire.
Officials said employees from the store will be working in other North State Grocery locations.
