(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – A press release from the Sutter County Undersheriff reports the death of a 16-year-old boy, “from the Plumas Lake area” who was hit by a train, is a suspected suicide.

Deputies were dispatched at 9:50 Monday morning to the tracks near the intersection of Pleasant Grove & Bear River Roads, right at the Yuba-Sutter County line, after the conductor of the Union Pacific train reported the collision.

There are no signs of foul play.
