(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Tonight, the Sutter County Sheriff’s office will be conducting a DUI checkpoint, from 8:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location in the City of Live Oak.
According to a release, “DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes.” The SCSO also wants to remind the public that “impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Some prescriptions and over-the-counter medications may interfere with driving. While medical and recreational marijuana are legal , driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.”
A first time DUI can cost around $13,500 in fines and penalties as well as a suspended license.
