(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Sutter County Sheriff’s Sgt. Carlos Mendoza reports that their office has been awarded a $97,000 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety to support their ongoing enforcement and education programs, designed to reduce the number of serious injuries & fatalities on our roads. That includes DUI checkpoints, high-visibility distracted driving enforcement operations, enforcement operations focused on top violations that put bikers & pedestrians at risk, as well as those that cause the most collisions. That includes speeding, failure to yield, running stop-signs/red-lights and improper turning & lane changes.
This current grant program for the SCSO run through next September.
