(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Sutter County Sheriff’s office reports a suspicious vehicle call Tuesday night resulted in two arrests.

Deputies responded to Normandy Court in Yuba City, where they located an unoccupied vehicle. Inside, officer saw suspected narcotics “in plain view” according to a press release. While checking the area, police saw two people, later identified as 34-year-old Daniel Wurm and 45-year-old Sarah Carberry, get in that vehicle and drive off.

Deputies then initiated a traffic stop a few blocks away, and during a probable cause search, found a “methamphetamine pipe, a backpack containing a fuel siphoning hose, bolt cutters, a loaded .38 special Ruger revolver, at least 1,000 rounds of ammunition, as well as checks, ID’s and mail not belonging to them” according to the release.

Further investigation determined the two had entered a Hunn Road storage facility to allegedly steal fuel.
