(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – A suspected DUI driver is believed to be responsible for a fatal collision in west Yuba City Sunday night. The accident also resulted in an additional eight injuries, including a 4-year-old girl in the suspected DUI driver’s vehicle.
The Yuba City Police Department reports at around 8:45 Sunday night, 39-year-old Chloe Tokuno-Fraley, driving north on El Margarita Road, ran the stopsign at HWY 20, made a right turn around the raised center median and began driving east in the westbound lanes. That resulted in a head-on collision with a full sized pickup carrying seven occupants, resulting in the death of a 27-year-old Colusa man, identified by The Appeal-Democrat, citing the Sutter County Sheriff’s office, as Alejandro Rodriguez-Duran.
Those injured all sustained non-life-threatening injuries, including the 4-year-old girl, according to a YCPD news release. The release adds, “Ms. Tokuno-Fraley was transported to Sutter Roseville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. During the course of the investigation, investigators believed Ms. Tokuno-Fraley was under the influence of alcohol.”
