(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Yuba City Police Department reports a suspect in last month’s mass vehicle vandalism has been located and taken into custody, following an almost month-long investigation and search.
Detectives had been trying to track down 23-year-old Pouriya Sahand since May 5th, when predawn that morning and late the night prior, he’d reportedly keyed 100 vehicles in north Yuba city, causing an estimated $175,000 in damage. “The investigating officer obtained numerous surveillance videos from the neighborhood and was able to positively identify Mr. Sahand as the sole suspect in the case” according to a release.
This past Saturday evening he was found at one of the suspected Sacramento residences, where detectives had determined he might be hiding out. Following a brief chase and with the assistance of a ‘good Samaritan” who held him down according to a YCPD news release, he was taken into custody.
