(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Yuba City Police Department reports a stolen a stolen firearm was recovered Sunday night when the A-Graveyard Shift conducted a traffic enforcement stop near Colusa Highway & Stabler Lane.

When the vehicle pulled over, a passenger fled successfully on foot. K-9 Rip was requested to search the area where the passenger ran off to, and located a firearm which turned out to be stolen. The weapon was loaded and Rip also located an additional spare magazine, fully loaded.

The passenger has not been located at this time.
