(Sacramento, CA) — California may be the next state to ban social media app TikTok on state owned phones, tablets, and other electronics. Two state lawmakers have filed proposals to ban state employees from using the app on their work phones or devices.

The ban does not list the social media app by name, but instead bans apps from an entity or country of origin. State Senator Bill Dodd said they don’t want to put the state’s information at risk.
