(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – A special meeting of the Marysville City Council has been called for this afternoon at 4:30. The meeting will consider the next steps in dealing with the aftermath of the Hotel Marysville following a destructive fire last month.
The lawyer for the building’s owner responded to a July 18th deadline given by the city “for Hotel Marysville settlement offer” according to a release, by saying on the 18th “the offer was not rejected. The time for city acceptance lapsed and we mentioned we needed more time to consider.”
The city’s release says they’re “preparing to demolish the hotel while attempting to negotiate a settlement agreement with the property owner to cover the cost and avoid court proceedings to recover their costs.”
