(Oroville, CA) – The Butte County Sheriff’s office reports they’re looking for a suspected murderer in Oroville.

Deputies responded late Saturday night to reports of a man shot in the 500 block of Lodgeview Drive. Life saving efforts were unsuccessful.

Detectives found evidence linking 54-year-old Joe Perkins to the shooting. A vehicle he fled in afterwards was later found in the Kelly Ridge area and Perkins in now being sought. An arrest warrant has been issued on one count of murder and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
