(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – A hot air balloon flight in Yuba City Saturday afternoon did not go well. The Yuba City Police Department reports the certified pilot was using the balloon at an event near Butte House Road & Stabler Lane as a photo prop for children. However, at some point, a gust of wind blew it into a parked vehicle, causing “minimal damage.”
The pilot was the only occupant of the basket at the time.
After the collision, the pilot landed near Live Oak Boulevard & Downie Street without further incident. No one was injured and the FAA has been contacted.
