(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – In Yuba County Court, a jury has found 30-year-old Dominik Cash of San Francisco guilty of 2nd degree murder, in the death of Dawn Loralee Ritter of Marysville.
Late the night of January 16th, 2021, Cash was leading a CHP officer on a high speed chase from Oroville at speeds of over 135 mph into Marysville. He ran a red light at B and 9th Streets and broadsided Ritter’s vehicle, killing her. It’s estimated Cash was going “about 85 when he struck Ritter’s vehicle” according to the D.A.
Cash was a convicted felon at the time of his Marysville arrest, had a loaded 9mm handgun on the seat next to him in the vehicle and had multiple active warrants out of Placer, Solano and San Francisco Counties for similar reckless high speed chases according to the D.A.
