(Sacramento, CA) — Sacramento is being mentioned as a possible landing spot for the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes. The Coyotes’ days in Arizona could be numbered. Earlier this month, Tempe, Arizona residents voted down a public referendum on a proposed new arena in their city. The franchise isn’t officially moving yet, but Salt Lake City, Kansas City and Houston have shown interest.
There’s no official connection between Sacramento and the Coyotes, but Kings’ owner Vivek Ranadive recently showed interest in buying the NHL’s Ottawa Senators. He also has an arena in the Golden One Center that is large enough to host NHL games. And, the move would keep the Coyotes in the Western Conference.
For now, however, talk of a possible Sacramento Coyotes is all speculation.
