(Sacramento County, CA) — Sacramento County deputies issued a trespass notice Wednesday to seniors from St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, who were distributing food and supplies to homeless individuals in the Arden Arcade area. Volunteers, active at the location for seven years, said they were stationed in the Arcade Library parking lot, not the nearby strip mall cited in the notice.

Neither the library nor the county’s homeless services department initiated the action. Library officials confirmed no formal permission was given but stated they did not call deputies.

The Sheriff’s Office and the private security firm listed on the notice declined to comment.
