(El Dorado County, CA) — Thousands of Pacific Gas and Electric Company customers in El Dorado Hills were left in the dark last night. Around eight-thousand customers were affected, with crews working overnight to restore service. The cause of the outage is unknown.
This comes as residents in several Northern California counties may face a Public Power Safety Shutoff on Tuesday due to high wind concerns. P-G-and-E is concerned that winds could cause debris to strike live electric lines, potentially starting wildfires.
The shutoff is expected to start between 2:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Tuesday, aiming for restoration by 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Approximately twelve-thousand customers may experience service interruption.
