(Corning, CA) – Just to our north in Corning, a traffic stop may have led authorities to a sizeable firearms theft in Nevada.
Police pulled over convicted felon Manuel Zavala Cuevas Saturday after a woman reported he had flashed an assault style rifle at her while in traffic. He was pulled over a few blocks later and officers observed a semi-automatic shotgun with a loaded magazine in the back seat. Action News reports a records check showed it was one of 45 firearms stolen in Nye County, Nevada.
Cuevas, a known gang member, was booked into the Tehama County Jail.
