(Shasta County, CA) — Pacific Gas & Electric is planning to shut off power to some customers in eight California counties over fire concerns today.
Residents in Shasta, Napa, Solano, Colusa, Tehama, Lake, Glenn and Yolo counties could be affected. P-G-and-E estimates almost 12-thousand people will lose power. The shutoff is due to concerns over the elevated fire risk brought on by high winds and increased heat.
The outage could stretch into tomorrow.
