(Butte County, CA) – CHP reports 19-year-old Kyle Schwab of Oroville was killed while attempting to see how fast his motorcycle would go, according to witnesses. The teen had reportedly reached an estimated speed of 100 mph when he lost control and collided with a tree, late Saturday afternoon on Troxel Road in Durham.

CHP tells Action News no alcohol or drugs were involved and that Schwab was wearing a helmet. However, it wasn’t enough to prevent fatal injuries at that speed.
