(Oroville, CA) – A man who founded a religious organization in Appleton Wisconsin, called Belief in the Mother of God, and then moved it four years ago to a temple & religious community at the base of Table Mountain in Oroville, has been arrested and charged with two counts of forcible rape of an adult and four counts of lewd & lascivious conduct with a child under 14.

56-year-old Sansue Bee Vang has pled not guilty.

Vang was arrested after two victims came forward to the Butte County Sheriff’s sexual assault detectives. The adult victim disclosed forcible rape on two occasions: may of last year and October of 2022, and hesitated to approach law enforcement due to threata made by Vang, following the alleged assaults. The child victim said molestation occurred “on at least five different occasions over approximately two years” according to the D.A., and that Vang threatened violence if the victim told anyone.
