(BUTTE COUNTY) – A 42-year-old Oroville man admits to a 2021 fatal
shooting in Thermalito. Zachary Hutcheson pleads no contest to the
murder with the use of a firearm charge in Butte County Superior Court.

We reported the attack back in December of 2021, which happened along Feather Avenue. Deputies responded to reports of the shooting and found 65-year-old Leopoldo Rodriguez dead in front of his home with a gunshot wound to the head.

Hutcheson is scheduled to be sentenced sometime in February, where he will face 25 years to life in prison.
