(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Yuba City Police Department reports two arrests and an injury in a drive-by shooting over the weekend.

Officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Magnolia Drive at which time the suspect vehicle sped off west on Bogue Road, leading officers on a chase that ended when the driver crashed at Cherry Street & Harding Road. The driver and passenger then fled on foot and a perimeter was set up. A yard-by-yard search led by K-9 Rip also included search drones being deployed, resulting in the capture and arrest of 19-year-old Israel Morales and a 16-year-old.

According to a YCPD release: “Morales, was booked into the Sutter County Jail for attempted murder, shooting at an inhabited dwelling, and felony evading. The second suspect was a 16-year-old juvenile, who was booked into Tri-Counties Juvenile Hall for attempted murder and shooting at an inhabited dwelling.”

A shooting victim was injured by bullet fragments.
