(Contra Costa County, CA) – The Contra Costa DA has issued a press release reporting that 53-year-old Angela Fae Brown of Olivehurst has pled guilty to identity theft, money laundering, grand theft, tax evasion and false impersonation in exchange for a chance to avoid a 10 year prison term’ To do so, she must pay back $907,087 she embezzled from a paver company in Richmond, where she worked as an accountant. As well, she must pay back $61,860 to the Franchise Tax Board.
The deal has her on formal probation “so she can seek and maintain employment to pay restitution.” Additionally, all assets Brown accumulated from September 2017 to November 2022 while embezzling will be liquidated and applied to the restitution and/or taxes owed.
